Zimbabwe Safari Holidays
Zimbabwe is firmly back on the tourist map with a wealth of attractions on offer, including the Victoria Falls, superb safaris in Hwange National Park, the serenity of Lake Kariba and the unique World Heritage Site of Mana Pools.
Victoria Falls, known locally as "Mosi-oa-Tunya" (the Smoke that Thunders) presents us with the incredible spectacle of the largest single curtain of water on the planet, and has also developed into a centre of adrenaline-fuelled activities for the adventurous.
Hwange National Park is the largest game reserve in the country and offers year-round viewing, without the crowds.
Lake Kariba is the world's largest man-made lake and boasts sensational sunsets; it's a place to relax, but also offers game drives and top quality birdwatching. Mana Pools on the Zambezi River north of Lake Kariba is one of the few places in the world where you can enjoy gameviewing by canoe - the pools of permanent water attract hippo, elephant, buffalo and Nile crocodile.
Elsewhere, we can arrange visits to the scenic Eastern Highlands, the mysterious 11th century ruins of Great Zimbabwe, or the majestic Matopos Hills, the chosen burial place of Cecil Rhodes.
Below you'll find a selection of sample Zimbabwe safaris with World Discovery.
