Burma Holidays - Novice monks at Hsinbyume Pagoda

Mingun is one of the former royal capitals of Burma.  Visit the Mingun Bell (bottom left) the world's largest uncracked bell, weighing 90 tons, and the unique Hsinbyume Pagoda with its 7 whitewashed terraces suurounding a central stupa (said to represent the 7 mountain ranges around sacred Mount Meru).  Continue to the unfinished Mingun Pagoda (bottom right), which would have been the largest in the world, but whose construction was halted on the death of King Bodawpaya who commissioned it.
