It sits at an altitude of between 2,528 and 3,850 ft (766 and 1167m) on the Caribbean slopes of the Talamanca Mountains and it provides stunning views of the Turrialba and Irazu volcanoes. The main building of the lodge is in a traditional Spanish colonial style. It has a comfortable sitting room (free Wi-fi available) with a large internal and external dining area, along with a birding balcony, where over 250 species have been recorded. Guests will also find many bird related books and internet access. The lodge offers 14 comfortable and clean guestrooms. The standard rooms (blow left, on which the World Discovery prices are based) are located within the main building, on the upper floor, next to the balcony. There are also some 'casitas' (cottages) located near the main building, which offer two bedrooms with a private bathroom, and are suitable for families. All meals are included in the stay.
This comfortable lodge is known for its excellent food, made with the best fresh local ingredients. Food is served family style, with a great variety at the table so that each guest can select the dishes and amounts of his or her choice. Rancho Naturalista has its own delicious mountain spring water that is tested regularly and certified to be pure and safe.
