Dhulikhel Mountain Resort
Nestled on a hillside about an hour's drive (34 kilometres) east of Kathmandu, this charming property offers warm hospitality and simple but comfortable accommodation in chalet-style buildings. Its 42 ensuite guestrooms (below), set in 20 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, come with contemporary amenities and there are spectacular views of mountains and countryside from the rooms.
Designed with an ethnic theme, the cottages are made from red brick with thatch roofs to reflect the traditional architecture of the region.
The resort's restaurant serves a variety of Nepali, Continental, Indian and Tibeto-Chinese dishes. You can also relax with a drink at the cosy Chimney Bar.
The resort's proximity to nearby historical sites, rural villages, natural wilderness and one of Nepal’s finest rafting rivers makes it an ideal stop-off for hiking, whitewater rafting, mountain biking or just relaxing in the pristine environment.
