Just a few minutes' drive from Reykholt are the waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, Europe's most powerful hot spring, Deildatunguhver, and several lava tubes and caves. Reykholt is located in the area called Borgarfjörður in West Iceland, less then 60 minutes' drive from Reykjavík.
