Nalagarh is a gateway to Himachal Pradesh state in Northern India, and is located 300km from Delhi and 60km from Chandigarh. The Fort, built in 1421 during the reign of Raja Bikram Chand, is located on a hillock and offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik Hills. It has been converted into a Heritage hotel with 22 rooms.
All rooms are different and offer a variety of layouts. World Discovery will endeavour to book your accommodation in or around the central upper courtyard, which offers better facilities. All rooms are ensuite but fairly basic, and we recommend the hotel only as a transit stop to provide a break in an otherwise very long day travelling between other destinations.
There is an outdoor swimming area, and extensive gardens and ouside seating areas. The hotel has a restaurant (of good quality) and pleasant small bar with picture windows and comfortable armchairs.
The hotel certainly has charm but the standard of maintenance has not proved consistent over the years.
