Wadi Rum is a stupendous, timeless place, virtually untouched by humanity and its destructive forces. Here, it is the weather and winds that have carved the imposing, towering skyscrapers of rock described by T.E. Lawrence as “vast, echoing and god-like”..
Also known as ‘The Valley of the Moon’, this is the place where Prince Faisal Bin Hussein and T.E. Lawrence based their headquarters during the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans in World War 1, and their exploits are intrinsically woven into the history of this amazing area.
Take a 90 minute jeep ride through this awe-inspiring scenery and you will gain an insight into what makes this such a special place. The Bedouin people that inhabit the area still maintain their semi-nomadic lifestyle.
Longer visits can be arranged - to visit, for example, Burdah Rock Bridge (the highest in Wadi Rum, below), the 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom', some 4000 year-old rock drawings and many other interesting sights. Transportation can be by car or even camel.
Ridley Scott's highly-acclaimed 2015 movie 'The Martian' starring Matt Damon was filmed largely in Wadi Rum.
STAY OVERNIGHT IN A TENTED CAMP

As well as enjoying the amazing spectacle of the clear star-filled skies at night, this will give you the opportunity to view Wadi Rum's lunar landscape at both sunset and sunrise, when the colours and shadows of the desert are at their most dramatic.
