Lake Elmentaita Serena Camp
Uniquely situated on the shores of the pristine Lake Elmenteita, where hundreds of thousands of birds congregate, the small and exclusive Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp opened only in July 2011. The camp blends aristocratic elegance with modern luxury and boasts a cuisine and service of a very high standard.
Located within the Soysambo Conservancy, formerly the property of the third Baron Delamere and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Serena Camp offers 24 large custom-made canvas tents, each on a stone platform with its own private verandah and ensuite bathroom. There is 24 hour hot and cold water, electricity, telephone, free WiFi, mini bar, safe, mosquito nets, and valet and laundry services. The central dining area overlooks both the swimming pool and a waterhole which attracts a wide range of wildlife. There is also a stylish bar with views over the lake.
A portion of the proceeds from the conservancy and camp go towards the maintenance of this unique biosphere and the local Maasai community.
