Meno a Kwena Camp
“Old world safari charm, and absolutely perfectly situated”
Meno a Kwena is a traditional tented camp situated on the edge of Boteti River, which forms the western boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, and is the perfect base for day trips to Makgadikgadi Pans and Nxai Pans. The camp overlooks the normally dry riverbed and an amazing waterhole.
The camp offers eight fully-serviced meru walk-in tents (pictured right) with semi-attached bathrooms including a bucket shower and flush toilet. The main guest area houses the lounge and dining area, library, bar and kitchen, from where delicious traditional safari meals are prepared. All meals are cooked on the campfire by the in-house chef, and prepared specially for the BBQ and ‘tin box oven’, adding to your authentic safari experience. Picnic lunches are supplied for day trips into the National Park. For relaxation on hot days there is a natural rock pool where you can take a dip.
One of the highlights of a stay at Meno a Kwena is the 'white rhino experience'; sightings of this majestic creature are virtually guaranteed! And in the dry winter months (June to October) you will see literally thousands of zebra, wildebeest and elephant, and a host of other wildlife, at the waterhole - undoubtedly one of the most productive drinking spots in view of a camp in Southern Africa (see below)!
