Riad Dar el Kébira, Rabat
Located in the heart of Rabat's Medina, Dar El Kébira is a gem of Moorish architecture, completely restored and refurbished. The riad is designed around two courtyards with fountains - relaxing spaces richly ornamented and decorated with tiles and mosaics, ideal for savouring a cup of tea around the fountain or simply reading books in a peaceful ambience.
All rooms are decorated and furnished with taste and refinement and boast great comfort. The rooms are named after different parts of the capital. There are 4 standard rooms (3 doubles and a twin), 4 deluxe rooms and 2 suites. Each room is unique in size, shape and decoration, but all have LCD satellite TV, free WiFi access, air-conditioning/heating, an in-room safe, ensuite bathroom with shower (the deluxe rooms and suites also have a bath tub - see picture below), hair dryer and flip-flops.
World Discovery website prices are based on Standard Rooms. For a supplement (subject to availability) of just £20 per person per night you may upgrade to a Deluxe Room, or £40 per person per night to a Suite.
The restaurant is decorated with Moroccan divans and a monumental fireplace with ancient Moroccan pottery. You can enjoy traditional Moroccan cuisine (couscous, tagines, pastilla, harira), whilst international dishes are also available.
There is a lovely roof terrace where you can enjoy the pleasures of the solarium and a view of the famous Hassan Tower, the banks of Bouregreg and the city of Salé. The terrace also offers a TV lounge with fireplace and a library, where breakfasts can be served.
