Ongula Village Homestead Lodge
Situated in the heart of Ovamboland, to the north of Etosha National Park, the Ongula Village Homestead Lodge currently offers 4 very comfortable rondavels (African-style round huts) accommodating 8 guests (a further 4 rondavels are planned for the near future). The rooms have an ensuite toilet and shower with hot and cold running water, tea and coffee-making facilities, and mosquito nets.
The lodge's main building has a bar and restaurant, a boma (open-air fire-place), and there is a pottery-making cellar in a separate building. There is also a small gift shop where you can purchase the locally-made handicrafts.
The lodge has been built alongside, and in cooperation with, an active Ovambo homestead and is the first lodge in Namibia to offer an introduction to the traditional lifestyle of the Ovambo people. During your stay you will be invited to participate in the preparation and making of local traditional drinks and meals, discover the art of basket weaving and pottery and explore the homestead.
