A deluxe rail journey across Canada.
Includes a 4 day transcontinental excursion from Toronto to Jasper on VIA Rail's 'Canadian', and a daylight crossing of the Rockies on the unique Rocky Mountaineer.
The train has played a vital role in the development of modern Canada. The construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the late 19th century - one of the largest railway projects ever undertaken in the world - linked together for the first time the many provinces of the Canadian Confederation which stretched almost 5,000 miles from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
Canadian Pacific Hotels (now rebranded as Fairmont Hotels), the largest and oldest hotel chain in Canada, were developed to cater for the ever-increasing number of passengers travelling on the new railway, and today run an impressive range of superb, often world-famous, hotels renowned for excellent service. It is therefore appropriate that we have selected the Fairmont Hotels for this special itinerary.
Recommended flight from London: British Airways from London Heathrow (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.
