The ultimate Nile Cruise - from Cairo to Aswan - a 600 mile journey through an ancient civilisation

The classic 'Long Cruise' from Cairo to Aswan offers a unique opportunity to visit the fabulous archaeological sites of Middle Egypt and is also the most relaxing Nile cruise available.  If you have already enjoyed a cruise between Luxor and Aswan, there is the option of taking a reduced duration cruise from Cairo to Luxor if you prefer (please ask for details).

Recommended flight from London: British Airways from London Heathrow (see below).  If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.

International Flights

We recommend the services of EgyptAir from London Heathrow. Flights are non-stop and have a choice of classes. Current timings (subject to possible change) are as follows:
Heathrow/Cairo. Depart at 14.00; arrive Cairo at 20.40
Cairo/Heathrow. Depart at 17.45; arrive Heathrow at 21.00
Timings vary slightly on some days of the week.
British Airways also have daily flights from London Heathrow but their return flight from Cairo is early in the morning and you would need to spend an additional overnight in a Cairo hotel at the end of your holiday.

Reverse Direction Cruises: These cruises operate in the reverse direction (downstream) from Aswan to Cairo.  The duration of the cruise is only 13 days.  Detailed itinerary available on request.

Supplements for Guaranteed Upper Deck cabins on request.  Upgrades are also possible to the Junior Suite, Senior Suite and Panorama Suite.

The Movenpick Hamees cruise includes only 1 day in Cairo.  Egypt's capital has so many sights worth seeing that you may wish to consider flying out a day or two ahead of the cruise in order to be able to fit in all the places that interest you.  We can also offer a full day excursion from the capital to the Mediterranean port of Alexandria.  We recommend staying at the historic The Mena House Hotel.

After the Cairo/Aswan cruise (as shown above), why not spend a few days in Aswan?

Aswan is the ideal place for a few days of relaxation at the end of your holiday, giving you time to reflect on the many wonders you have seen in your journey along the Nile. We recommend the excellent Movenpick Resort, located on Elephantine Island and offering a regular shuttle boat service to the Aswan corniche, or you might prefer a touch of nostalgia by staying at the venerable Old Cataract Hotel.

If your cruise is in the reverse direction (see note below the price grid), you have a choice of extension options.  You may wish to stay on Cairo, or alternatively, why not spend some relaxing days beside the warm waters of the Red Sea?

A short flight from Cairo will take you to the Red Sea coast to reach the Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh, a secluded haven boasting white sands, aquamarine waters and vibrantly-hued marine life.  This is in our opinion simply Egypt's top resort hotel.
