Rajasthan is one of India's brightest jewels, a vast desert province where Rajput princes ruled for centuries in extravagant pomp and splendour. The great forts and palaces of the Maharajahs bear witness to this proud and glorious past, but Rajasthan has more than just this rich historical legacy - it is also a land of traditional crafts, musicians and folk dances, women wearing bright saris and bedecked with bangles and silver nose rings, festive village life and the contrasting forms and colours of the desert. Rajasthan is, simply, India at its best.
Recommended flight from London: Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow (see below). If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.

Every year at the Kartik Poornima Full Moon, the holy town of Puskar hosts the famous Pushkar Camel Fair which attracts thousands of visitors, including pilgrims, from all over India. You could incorporate a stay at the fair, in tented accommodation, between Jaipur and Khimsar.
2 to 4 November 2017.
JAIPUR: UPGRADE TO THE RAMBAGH PALACE
For a true taste of luxury there is the option of upgrading to the Rambagh Palace, former home to the Maharajah of Jaipur, for your 3 nights stay in the city. We would be pleased to give a quote for the additional cost.
JODHPUR: UPGRADE TO THE UMAID BHAWAN PALACE
In early 2016, this 20th century Palace, converted into a luxury hotel by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, was voted 'Best Hotel in the World' in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Awards. If you want to upgrade to the Umaid Bhawan Palace for your 2 night stay in Jodhpur we are happy to quote the additional cost.
EXTEND YOUR STAY
Popular extensions to the 'India of the Maharajahs' tour include the following:
(Best from November to May). Search for tigers (and much more) in Ranthambhor National Park. A stay here could be fitted into this itinerary between Bharatpur and Jaipur. A 2 night stay will give you an excellent chance of seeing these magnificent Big Cats.
(Best from October to April). India's premier beach destination has a wide variety of accommodation to suit all budgets. Our favourite luxury hotel is the Leela (pictured). No need to return to Delhi - fly from Udaipur via Mumbai to Goa.
