This fabulous itinerary is the perfect way to see some of Kenya's best game-filled locations and also gives a good insight into the culture and way of life of the local people. Stay at the excellent Atua Enkop luxury safari camps in Samburu, Nakuru and the Masai Mara.

This safari operates on a WEEKLY basis and will operate subject to a minimum of 2 passengers.

Recommended flight from London: Kenya Airways from London Heathrow (see below).  If you are travelling from a country other than the UK we would be happy to give you guidance on your flight options.

DAY 1 (Saturday) - Arrival in Nairobi.

On arrival in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, you will be met by a representative of World Discovery and taken by private transportation to your hotel.

Kenya Safari Holidays - Nairobi Tented Camp

If you would prefer to get straight into safari mode on arrival, there is now the option of the excellent Nairobi Tented Camp, with just 9 tents, the only accommodation allowed in Nairobi National Park.  Please ask for a quote.

DAY 2 (Sunday) - Drive to Samburu National Reserve.

After breakfast leave Nairobi by 4x4 safari vehicle, accompanied by your expert guide, and head north to Samburu National Reserve.  After lunch en route, you will reach the exclusive Elephant Bedroom Camp, located on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, in time for a late afternoon game drive.  Stop for drinks at a scenic point to watch the sun go down over the African wilderness before returning to your camp.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Kenya Safari Holidays - Elephants in Samburu National Park DAY 3 (Monday) - Samburu National Reserve.

This morning we wake early for a morning game drive to explore Samburu National Reserve.  The reserve is known for its many localized and rare animals, including the gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich and Beisa oryx.  Samburu is also justly famous for its elephants, and also boasts a prolific birdlife.  In the afternoon enjoy another game drive in this beautiful landscape.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

DAY 4 (Tuesday) - Drive to Lake Nakuru.

After breakfast set off towards the stunning scenery of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.  You will stay for two nights at the excellent Mbweha Safari Camp located in the private 6,400 acre Congreve Conservancy near the southern border of Lake Nakuru National Park.  Take an escorted nature walk from Mbweha for a close-up view of the local flora and fauna.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Kenya Safari Holidays - Flamingos at Lake Nakuru DAY 5 (Wednesday) - Lake Nakuru National Park.

A full day in Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya's more underrated game parks which has a surprisingly varied and rich wildlife.  Search the magnificent yellow-barked acacia trees for the elusive napping leopards. Look for incredible wildlife, such as the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, both white and black rhino, lion, buffalo, hippo, waterbuck and baboon.  This is one of the best parks in Kenya for viewing white rhino.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

DAY 6 (Thursday) - By road to the Masai Mara.

After an early breakfast continue your safari by heading to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving at Tipilikwani Mara Camp for lunch.  The Mara is the jewel in Africa's crown, host to the most spectacular array of wildlife on earth, constantly changing as the plains game follows ancient migration routes under the watchful eyes of the lion, leopard and cheetah that prey on the vulnerable. Gameviewing this afternoon should hopefully give you the opportunity of seeing all the animals known as the “Big Five”.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Kenya Safari Holidays - Lion pride in the Masai Mara DAY 7 (Friday) - The Masai Mara.

Game viewing is never dull in the Mara, and patience is often rewarded with unique sightings, such as a pride of lion stalking their prey, a solitary leopard retrieving its kill from the high branches of an acacia tree or a herd of elephant. Spend an exciting day driving across the limitless plains in search of wildlife in one of Kenya's most spectacular areas. This vast, open space is like nowhere else on earth; merely to be here is to be inspired.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Recommended Reading.

THE MARSH LIONS by Brian Jackman with Jonathan and Angela Scott.  Reissued by Bradt in February 2012 (originally published in 1982), this is the classic account of life in the Masai Mara.  Thoroughly recommended.

DAY 8 (Saturday) - Return to Nairobi.  Depart.

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi.  You will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your departure flight.
Meals included: Breakfast.

At the end of a busy schedule of gameviewing on safari, why not spend a few days of relaxation at one of our selected beach resorts?

For sheer indulgence beside the pristine white sand beaches of Zanzibar's east coast, the excellent Breezes is the perfect choice.
