TAILOR-MADE OPTIONS
World Discovery specialise in tailor-made holidays. The sample tour shown above is exactly that - a sample tour. We can change it to suit your precise requirements in may ways - by amending or ugrading the accommodation, by taking out or putting in additional sightseeing, by changing the number of nights in each place, by booking special meals, activities or cultural visits. We are happy to advise and help you create your ideal holiday.
EVENINGS AT PETRA
You have two nights at Petra. A magical experience not to be missed is the Petra by Night tour, when the rose-coloured rocks seem to glow from within, bathed in the light of more than 2,000 candles. Another option is to try your hand at cooking your very own Jordanian dinner at the Petra Kitchen (current cost £39). World Discovery can arrange these tours for you in advance, including private transfers, and include the cost on your invoice.
PRIVATE CAMP IN WADI RUM
The prices shown are based on staying in the Sun City Camp (30 tents). There is the option of staying in a small private camp operated by World Discovery's appointed agents in Jordan. We believe this offers an intimate and enjoyable stay in a quiet and remote part of the Wadi. The supplement for choosing this option would be £165 per person.
EXTEND YOUR STAY
Popular extensions to the 'King's Highway' are as follows:
THE DEAD SEA
A brief visit to the Dead Sea is included on day 7 en route back to Amman. Alternatively you may wish to actually stay in this unique location, either for a night during the tour, or for a longer stay at the end of your tour. Our recommended hotel is the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar, which offers superb accommodation and a wide range of spa treatments.
If you have the time to extend your stay, Jordan's capital city has much to offer, from archaeological remains to a brand new National Museum and some excellent shops, cafés and boutiques for you to sample [more]. You could also take a half day excursion to the Baptism Site at Bethany, awarded UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2015.
STAY IN AQABA
If you want to include a beach stay at the end of your tour, we recommend a stay on the Gulf of Aqaba. This could be taken after the visit to Petra, before you return to Amman for the homeward flight.
THE RADISSON BLU TALA BAY
Our recommended hotel is the resort-style Radisson Blu at Tala Bay, 10 miles from Aqaba city centre. With 5 pools, a private beach area and a wide choice of restaurants, it's an ideal choice for a few days of relaxation. Please ask for a quote.
THE INTERCONTINENTAL, AQABA
If you prefer a more central location in Aqaba, then the InterContinental Aqaba is your best choice. The hotel has its own 300m private beach, and all rooms have balconies overlooking the Red Sea. Please ask for a quote.
