Botswana is undoubtedly one of the best preserved wilderness areas left in the world, and the jewel in its crown is the Okavango Delta. This amazing destination offers the most varied profusion of wildlife in Southern Africa, with free-roaming herds of buffalo, zebra, antelope and elephant, as well as lion, leopard, wild dog and cheetah, and an incredible 550 species of birds.
This classic fly-in safari uses the luxury tented camps run by Ker & Downey, whose aim is to recreate the style of the traditional African safari, with a touch of nostalgia.
GUARANTEED WINDOW SEAT - On Ker & Downey morning and afternoon game drives there is a maximum of only four
guests per vehicle. The vehicle's
configuration ensures a window seat for each passenger and facilitates
communication between the guide and his guests also adding to a more comfortable

PLEASE ASK FOR A QUOTATION
Prices from £2830 (March) to around £5200 per person, according to the time of year*. The price we quote you at the time of booking is guaranteed.
* We do not recommend this itinerary during the Botswana Rainy (or 'Green') Season which runs from December to February. In March, which borders this season, you may still encounter brief and occasionally heavy rain, but gameviewing is good and prices are significantly lower.
As these are not set departures, you may wish to spend longer then 2 nights at one or more of the camps. Please ask us for prices.
BANA BA LETSATSI
As part of its social responsibility programme Ker & Downey Botswana supports Bana Ba Letsatsi, established in 2004 with the mission of supporting vulnerable, orphaned and at risk children living in Maun. There are over 200 children on the register; these children are registered as they have either never been to school or dropped out, suffer sexual or physical abuse, are orphaned or lack parental care, beg, work underage, abuse drugs. When you book a World Discovery Botswana safari that includes stays at the Ker & Downey camps, a small donation is made on your behalf to Bana Ba Letsatsi.
There are no direct flights from the UK to Botswana. We recommend the services of British Airways from London Heathrow to Johannesburg, with connecting flights to and from Maun on Air Botswana. Current timings (subject to possible change) are as follows:
Heathrow/Johannesburg. Depart at 21.20; arrive Johannesburg at 09.05 (next morning)
Johannesburg/Maun. Depart at 11.15; arrive Maun at 13.15
Maun/Johannesburg. Depart at 14.00; arrive Johannesburg at 16.00
Johannesburg/Heathrow. Depart at 19.05; arrive Heathrow at 05.05 (next morning)
You can book the flights yourself on the easy-to-use British Airways website. South African Airways also offer daily flights from London Heathrow to Johannesburg. Alternatively World Discovery can book the flights for you (we levy a service charge of £25 per person for this service).
EXTEND YOUR STAY
The most popular extension to the 'Okavango Delta' safari is a few days at the magnificent Victoria Falls. Instead of flying back to Maun on DAY 7, you would fly to Kasane, from where it takes just 1 hour by road to Victoria Falls:
The world-famous falls, known locally as "Mosi oa Tunya" (The Smoke that Thunders), were seen by David Livingstone in 1855 and named after the reigning monarch. Victoria Falls is the largest single sheet of water in the world, over 100 metres tall, and over one mile wide. There is a wide choice of accommodation at the Falls.
