'Aliya' means elephant in the Sinhala language, and the resort is themed around this majestic animal.
In this modern resort you have a unique choice of staying either in modern roomy chalets or in charming luxury tents (both pictured below). Both types of accommodation offer all modern facilities, including free WiFi, and ensuite bathrooms.
There is a choice of dining, beginning with the all-day Alaka Restaurant offering breakfast, lunch and dinner; food is distinct to the region, utilising only the best ingredients and spices which are locally sourced or grown on the resort's own premises. The restaurant provides a panoramic view of the Lion Rock.
Nagula offers a unique wining and dining experience. This speciality restaurant features Sri Lankan cuisine with a rustic and simple ambiance. Makara serves delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine served in the beautiful ambiance, whilst the Migara coffee shop and bar has a charming and airy feel to it and is decorated with dozens of antique miniature hand-carved mythical lions embedded into the wall.
