Lanjia Lodge, Chiang Khong
Built in traditional Hmong style with western comforts, Lanjia Lodge is an eco-friendly, community-based lodge nestled on a hill above the Mekong River close to the famous 'Golden Triangle' region. It is the ideal base for an onward journey into Laos.
One of the lodge's principal aims is to improve the quality of life of hilltribes in the area and the staff at the lodge are mainly local Hmong and Lahu villagers. Contributions from your stay will be used on community projects that improve the local living conditions, education and healthcare programmes.
There are four thatched, four-bedroom bamboo houses, with large simple bedrooms and tiled ensuite bathrooms and hot water. Each house has a spacious balcony, cushioned seating areas and wonderful views over the valley and village below. The food blends traditional Thai dishes with some of the local tribal recipes. Many of the ingredients are grown organically on site.
