Kirimaya Resort, Khao Yai
The stunning Kirimaya Resort is set on the edge of Khao Yai National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is a world class championship golf course on site, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
The 60 rooms are wonderfully designed and have some great touches, particularly the beds, made from bamboo logs. The Plantation View Rooms (on which the World Discovery prices are based) have an outdoor balcony with daybed and a huge bath. For a supplement you may upgrade to one of the other room types: the Horizon View Rooms are the same, but on the upper level. There are also 4 Terrace Suites available, like the other rooms, but with extra living space. If you really want something unique, the 4 Tented Villas are superb, blending modern luxury with a safari feel.
The Spa provides some of the highest quality therapists in Thailand. The high standard of the treatments here is hard to beat and very professional. The Swedish massage comes highly recommended; all massages offer the choice of 60 or 90 minutes, and various ‘wellness rituals’ are also on offer. Thai massage can be provided in the privacy of your own room, and for those staying in the Tented Villas, any massage can be provided there.
Acala, the fine dining restaurant overlooks the lake and golf course and serves delicious Thai cuisine. There is additional al fresco seating on the poolside patio. The Mist in an intimate venue for afternoon tea, all day drinks and evening cocktails. Located above Acala Restaurant, it offers picturesque vistas of the golf course, resort and mountains. Interiors feature comfortable large chairs. Myth is an open-air restaurant located on the upper level of the lobby and offers unspoiled 360 degree panoramic views of Khao Yai National Park – a stunning backdrop. Both Italian and Japanese cuisine is served. A complimentary afternoon tea is served from 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. daily at both The Mist and Myth.
