The Mekong Explorer
The Mekong Explorer or 'Jayavarman' (see note below) is a 20th century boutique-style cruise ship mixing avant-garde French colonial design with enchanting Indochine architecture. It offers 27 expansive and carefully designed staterooms with floor to ceiling panoramic sliding glass doors onto a private balcony.
World Discovery prices are based on Superior Staterooms (pictured below). Upgrades are available for a supplement to Deluxe and Signature Staterooms.
Meals are taken in the Indochine Dining Hall. For locally brewed drinks and cocktails, accompanied by music, the spacious Club 1930 is the place to be.
Located on the Main Deck, the Apsara Beauty and Wellness Spa is all about giving you an upscale South Asian experience, entirely dedicated to your well being.
What's in a name?
You will see this cruise ship also referred to as the 'Jayavarman'. This is the registered name in Vietnam, but the Cambodian authorities will not permit the name to be used because Jayavarman is the name of a Cambodian god-king of the Khmer Empire. We have chosen to use the name 'Mekong Explorer' as this is the name painted on the ship itself.
